We are using common cathode to connect the 7 segment display to the ground and connected to the appropriate segment to power. I then want to display the number on my seven-segment displays. The purpose of using resistors before the seven segment display is to limit the current going to the LEDs. The simplified Boolean function from the truth table using SoP method is: S ABC + ABC. I then want to take that number and convert it to it's equivalent decimal value through 2's compliment. (n<9) and demonstrate on 7-segment display (using IC-7447). So there are the eight switches which I pull as inputs to make a signed number such as 10111110. essentially what I am trying to do is use my Basys board as an 8 bit signed number converter. I'm working on my final project here and I find myself getting lost.
